Fixed Wheel Brewery Beer Festival!

When we heard that Fixed Wheel Brewery were having a beer festival over the bank holiday we knew it was a good idea to head down early on the Friday and even though we managed this, the place was already buzzing. There were lots of familiar faces, some epic beers on the go, with a great mix of 15 kegs, 10 casks and 10 ciders from some of our favourites, including Burning Soul, Cloudwater, Wild Beer, Salopian, Twisted Barrel, Magic Rock and plenty more, we just didn’t know where to start![su_row][su_column size="1/2"]The Beer Yeti fixed wheel bar opening review, west midlands[/su_column] [su_column size="1/2"]The Beer Yeti fixed wheel bar opening review, west midlands[/su_column][/su_row]The queue to the bar was long but everyone was full of excitement, chatting about what beers they were going to try first. We got to the bar and Scott was already rushed of his feet! We decided it was only right to get on the Fixed Wheel brews first as we were with a group of cyclists after all and for some of them it was their first time in the brewery. After tasting these lovely brews, I think they’ll definitely be coming back for more...Fixed Wheel - Through and Off - (Cask, 3.8% abv) - A beautifully well balanced IPA and at a sessional abv, perfect for the cycle group.Fixed Wheel - Winter Miles, Summer Smiles - (Keg, 4.8% abv)A citrusy wheat beer, with a fresh, hoppy feel. It also featured in our “One for the Ride" feature.Fixed Wheel - Big Mig - (Keg, 6.2% abv) - Quite bitter and sharp, but really refreshing at the same time.Next was chosen by the cask boys who went for a Solopian, which I must say was a good call! Me on the other hand stuck with keg and  a Wild Beer brew.Solopian Prohibition - (Cask, 4.6% abv)A nice mix of tropical flavours with a bold burst of citrus and grapefruit.Wild Beer Millionaire - (Keg, 4.7% abv) - A fabulous mix of salted caramel and digestive biscuitiness… pudding in a glass![su_row][su_column size="1/2"]The Beer Yeti fixed wheel bar opening review, west midlands[/su_column] [su_column size="1/2"]The Beer Yeti fixed wheel bar opening review, west midlands[/su_column][/su_row]We are loving the expansion of the brewery, with people almost bursting out the doors on a Friday night it was definitely needed to keep up with the high demand. The atmosphere here on the first night of the festival was great, with the good vibes bouncing and smiles all round… I can only imagine what went down on Saturday was even better! As always down at the Fixed Wheel Brewery, they are a friendly bunch out to have a good time sharing a common love for great beer. Scott and the team definitely had the good beer covered for the weekend and you can tell from the photos a good time was had by all! It is also just a short bike ride from Birmingham.[su_row][su_column size="1/2"]The Beer Yeti fixed wheel bar opening review, west midlands[/su_column] [su_column size="1/2"]The Beer Yeti fixed wheel bar opening review, west midlands[/su_column][/su_row]At the end of the night, it was myself @MrBeerYeti and @MyBike Adventure who were the last two standing, before the ride home we opted for two great beers to set us on our way...My choice was a brew from Burning Soul, Belgian IPA (Keg, 6.2% abv), which was a well balanced, contrasting mix of citrusy hoppiness, with a bitter Belgian-style finish. Easy drinking, but at 6.2% you need to be careful if on a bike for the journey home, third measures for us all night :DThe lady went for one of her favourites, which she was glad to see on tap... Magic Rock Highwire Grapefruit (Keg, 5.5% abv), which needs no introduction, an uber refreshing west coast pale, showered with grapefruity goodness!
