Lacons – Quell 5.4% abv

Love the description… a “Slightly misted golden IPA. Aptly named to ‘quell’ the thirst of avid beer drinkers that are seeking something unique, interesting and different to the norm. Its name pays homage to a period in our history when Lacons was nearly silenced forever at the hands of a corporate takeover.”

Appearance: Slightly clouded light amber/ golden, pours a frothy head that reduces slowly but stays with you and leaves a fair bit of lacing. Pretty carbonated.

Aroma: Golden biscuit/ brown sugar with nice citrusy underlay and a pleasant touch of vanilla.

Flavour: The vanilla/ biscuity sweetness is followed through with a nice little hint of sweet watermelon, counterbalanced by a citrusy bitterness in the finish.

VERY refreshing with lots of character!

As you can probably see from the Greater Anglia Trains logo on the can, this brew is also available on their Norwich – London trains, so we’ll definitely be planning a couple of trips on this line!

It’s also available on keg in selected pubs too.

Anarchy Brew Co – Knuckle Dragger IPA – 8.3% abv

With picture of British Bare Knuckle Boxer James Figg on the bottle, this one has a cracking little tale on the side but we’ll let you read it once you’ve grabbed one! 😉

Flavour: The tropical notes of the aroma are carried through into the flavour, with a rich malty backbone, finished off with a mega-hoppy finish (90 IBU’s)!

Epic brew, with a cracking bitter-sweet combo going on!
