71 Brewing – Heart of Blackness 5.8% abv

These guys are Dundee’s first brewery for 50 years, 71 is on a mission to revive the lost art of brewing in Scotland’s fourth city.

Appearance: Jet black, with a brownish head that reduces slightly.

Aroma: A blast of chocolate, coffee and molasses and a fruity, red wine underlay.

Flavour: Coffee, rich powdered chocolate truffle, with a touch of molasses.

Well balanced, with a cracking combo of some fantastic flavours!

HEPWORTH & CO BREWERS LTD – Conqueror 4.5% abv

Brewed using Sussex grown malted barley and hops, this bad boy promises lots of dark maltiness!

Appearance: Dark, with a brownish tinge and a minimal head.

Aroma: A rich, fruity chocolate underlay followed by a hint of red berries, cinnamon, coffee and a slight touch of vanilla.

Flavour: A fresh hit of coffee, followed by a subtle fruitiness and dash of spice that tingles on your tongue.

Lots of depth and flavour, a really lively brew!

Evil Twin Brewing – Even More Jesus – 12% abv

The one’s been making a fair bit of noise, so we just couldn’t miss it out!

Appearance: Dense, jet black with a thick chocolate coloured head.

Aroma: A cracking mix of chocolate, fudge and coffee.

Flavour: A cracking sweet mix of coffee followed by a touch of sweet vanilla and chocolate, polished off by a fruity, boozy finish.

Leaves a roastie reminiscence in your mouth and a burn in your belly.
