CAMRA Great British Beer Festival Winter

The CAMRA Great British Beer Festival Winter hit the West Midlands last week. The festival was held in The New Bingley Hall, and housed over 400 beers with alternatives such as cider, spirits and even mead! A picture from the CAMRA Great British Beer Festival WinterThe festival is run by Mark Parkes and his team of volunteers, who raised money for charity Love Brum through the event. On top of that was a cracking international bottle stand and a whole host of food vendors from Birmingham's legendary Digbeth Dining Club!A picture from the CAMRA Great British Beer Festival WinterFor the avid homebrewers, there was a learning, discovery and homebrew stand where festival-goers could chat with and ask advice from experienced brewers. A picture from the CAMRA Great British Beer Festival WinterAs always, the range of cask was vast with brewers from far and wide demonstrating their best brews. This included award-winning brews like King Korvak's Saga, an awesome porter from Fownes on the Champion Winter Beer Competition bar; perfect for beer drinkers who enjoy the darker side of things. ?A picture from the CAMRA Great British Beer Festival WinterThornbridge that has recently opened its new bar, The Colmore in Birmingham City Centre, even brought an uber-cool VW camper which we admired while sipping its Pale Ale Astryd on cask. Boss' Loose Nut brown ale also went down a treat at the Jeweller’s Bar.A picture from the CAMRA Great British Beer Festival WinterListening to some epic tunes amongst the bustling atmosphere, we found ourselves at one of our highlights, the Defiant' KeyKeg bar which held the likes of Fixed Wheels 'Through and Off' and Gorgeous Brewery's now-renowned CPD Pale Ale… More of that next year, please! A picture from the CAMRA Great British Beer Festival Winter
