The Froth Blowers: An Extraordinary Brewing Story!

I went to meet David from The Froth Blowers Brewing Company, a family-run microbrewery based in Erdington, Birmingham. Luckily I caught him just before he jetted off to a friends brewery in Canada. The brewery has been going since 2013, David started it after his wife passed away;“I was left footloose and fancy free in a big house, there was no point in keeping it, so I sold it and used some of the money to follow my dream. I’d been a beer buff since my mid 40s, finding an interest in unspoilt pubs and gradually getting into drinking modern ales like Exmoor Gold, Stout and Oakham Ales Pale Ale in the mid 80s.”[su_row][su_column size="1/2] Picture from the beer yeti review of the froth blowers brewery in Birmingham real ale [/su_column] [su_column size="1/2"][/su_column][/su_row]

He set up the brewery with his two stepsons Neil who runs the sales side of things and Andrew who is the head brewer. Both left their jobs and after a four-day brewing course, Andrew started brewing on a 6 barrel kit. They sold their first batch in the October of that year.

“The biggest challenge was not knowing anything, not many people set up a brewery and start their own business at the age of 73. So keep an eye out!
