Grey Trees Afghan Pale Ale!

This beer comes from Grey Trees Brewery, in Aberdare, South Wales. It’s a multi award winning ale, picking up the CAMRA Gold Champion Beer of Britain 2017 (Strong Ale Category), Gold Overall Champion Beer of Wales 2017 and SIBA Gold Champion Overall Winner. India Pale Ale was served to the British Troops during the Anglo Afghan wars in the 1800’s, which is where its name derives from. So this is what’s in store for you when you crack this bad boy open!..

Grey Trees Brewery, in Aberdare, afghan pale ale review, beer yeti

Appearance: Amber, with a slight haze and a few bubbles feeding a dense, decent head that stays with you throughout.

Aroma: Sweet and citrusy with a touch of lemon grass, tropical fruit, maltiness and a delicate underlay of bitter pine.

Flavour: Tangerine, with a touch of sweet caramel, met with a slight nuttiness and a dry, bitter finish.

Well balanced, cracking bitter-sweet mix that is thirst-quenchingly good, from start to finish!

Available to purchase on This is Beer, via the brewery shop, across Wales and from distributors across London, Bristol, Shropshire, Glasgow, Brighton, Portsmouth Hereford and the Midlands.

For more info, check out their Website, Facebook, Twitter & Instagram.

Hey, I’m Tim! I fell seriously in love with beer while travelling with my wife from the UK to the U.S back in 2013. Visiting some epic craft beer bars and beer festivals along the way, we discovered some amazing brews. This inspired me to create BeerYeti to share my passion while educating everyone on everything beer! The site was originally set up as ‘a bit of a laugh’, but this soon spiralled into something a little more serious!
