HaandBryggeriet Odin's Tipple Imperial Stout!

This brew comes from HaandBryggeriet, based in the city of Drammen, Buskerud, Norway. The brewery that was originally founded by four home brewers in 2005 has really gone for it with this one, creating an Imperial Stout at a whopping 10.2% abv, aiming to to cram as much flavour as possible into an imperial stout. Odin was a mythological God who sacrificed an eye so he could drink from the well of wisdom and the bottle light heartedly reads; “We have sacrificed malts, hops and yeast so you could experience this taste.” So let's crack this bad boy open and check out this sacrificial brew!..HaandBryggeriet Odin's Tipple, craft beer, review, Beer Yeti, Brammen, Norway, blogAppearance: Deep jet black, with a slight brownish tinge and a moderate light brown head that reduces, leaving a fair bit of lacing.Aroma: Rich dark fruit followed by a slight underlay of red wine, coffee, roasted malts and a touch of sea salt.Flavour: Sweet, with a touch of liquorice, red berries and a big hit of dark chocolate, creating a Black Forest gateau-like essence. This is balanced by a shot of expresso, bitter roasted malts and a slightly boozy finish.A fantastically complex brew, with plenty of depth and flavour. It’s also very warming at the same time and perfect for enjoying as the nights draw in!Available to purchase from Bacchanalia Cambridge, BeerHawk, Fuggles Beer Café and Tor Beers. For more info, check out their Website.
