Every year we come across more and more festivals that ‘give back’ to society, offering both support and funds to charitable causes. We’ve seen some amazing festivals over the years, many of whom have been non-profit or give a proportion of their profits back to society. It’s always great to hear about how kind people are in the brewing industry and is a great advert for the industry as a whole. We’ve seen this increase so much, we figured that we need to highlight this. So we’ve decided to highlight our ‘Top 5 Festivals that give back’. Now let’s get it straight, this isn’t based on who gave the most or who gave ALL of their profits away. There’s a fine balance that needs to be kept, combining amazing beer and good vibes with a good cause.

Wild West Brewfest, also known as Katy Brew Fest, is held just west of Houston. This year the festival drew in over 7,300 attendees and generated over $140,000 in net profits up from $85,000 in 2015, which was all given back to worthy causes, we encourage you to visit their website to view all of the wonderful things that this event supports.  The festival is run completely by volunteers who are passionate about beer and helping others, even the executive team are all volunteers, there is no fee taken out of this event by anyone! With over 130 brewers and a whopping 500 different brews, this festival is an event that truly loves beer and helps do good things with its proceeds!  We are proud to name this event the #1 event in the country that not only is staffed by all volunteers from bottom to the top, but also gives back to those in need.  Congratulations goes to the Wild West Brewfest for achieving this coveted spot for the 2016 season!
